bas-reliefs, miniatures, numismatics on precious metal, art jewellery. Unique works and numbered and signed multiples.
Mario Eremita visited the exhibition dedicated to Shiite Gold at Palazzo Grassi ( Venezia ) at the end of seventies. The show struck the imagination of the artist making him passionate about the processing of precious metals.
Initially he had a predilection for gold and he also participated in the Vicenza Gold Fair in 1976, then the artist was fascinated by silver and bronze. He developed his technique to create works resulting from the mix of the three metals. Since then, numerous works have been created, unique and multiple pieces, also in collaboration with his sons Michelangelo and Nicola.
The toreutics art deals with processing of metals using disparate technical tools, including gravers, punches, balance wheels and presses. These technologies gave Eremita other means for his imagination from which he derived an original series of works: the bas-reliefs.
The fineness of details and the plasticity of the shapes of these masterpieces of toreutics art are such that experts compare them with precision castings and with the best creations of numismatic world.
The technical construction methods were developed by Eremita and are his personal and exclusive heritage. The artist’s value lies in his ability to elaborate what exists in a form that is the fruit of his exclusive imagination; nothing can be new but everything can be reinterpreted.
Now there are collections dedicated to popular themes which are: arts and crafts, cities and boats, the masks of the Comedia de l’Arte, the seasons, sacred themes, mythology and a series of works created on commission for very special occasions.
